Arlo is 3 years old, and he was diagnosed with autism 1 year ago. He loves letters and numbers, anything to do with water, and sea animals. He’s determined, loving, gentle, and very cheeky. Arlo experiences the world in his own unique way, and he shows us every day how much beauty there is when you slow down, listen more closely and really notice the details.
Arlo is non verbal, and communication can be hard for him. Because of that, the world doesn’t always feel built with him in mind. We’re learning every day to see the world through Arlo’s eyes - to understand his way of communicating, his needs, and his strengths - and it’s changed how we see everything.
We’re walking to raise awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. Not sympathy. Not judgement. Not only for Arlo, but for all autistic children and their families. Autism doesn’t need fixing - understanding does. We want a world where Arlo is welcomed, supported, and valued exactly as he is, and where differences are met with kindness instead of assumptions.
This walk is about love, learning, and standing proudly beside Arlo - On his terms, in his world, and always his way.

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
